Fresh Flowers
Fresh flowers bring a soft scent and a focus on natural beauty wherever they are used. Of course, like all living things, such beautiful plants do have a lifespan. There are several steps a person may take to ensure that their floral purchases last longer.
The first key to keeping fresh flowers is to make the right plant selections. This is to say that different species will have different lifespans. If a buy wishes to have a long lasting bouquet he or she may consider longer lasting substitutions for particular flowers. For instance, the Iris, Gerber Daisy, Delphinium, and Dahlia will last approximately one week. Statice, Gladiolus, Lisianthus, and Liatris flowers will last about ten days. The Baby's-Breath, Carnation, Strawflower, and Shasta Daisy will last even longer.
Fresh flowers should have their water changed daily for a longer lifespan. It is also important to remove all plant leaves at the water level. If the leaves are left in the water, they will begin to decompose.
